The Scitaute Health Alliance was at the Hope Public Library Tuesday night for a Tick Talk presented by Steven Engborg from URI’s Tick Encounter Program! This program was very informative- we learned facts about ticks as well as strategies to protect yourself, your yard, and your pets from ticks. We also learned about URI’s Tick Identification program, where you can send pictures and information about ticks you find. A tick expert will identify the tick as well as tell you how likely that tick is to transmit disease based on how long it was feeding. If you missed us please see the following resources about ticks and Lyme disease. And as always, please call our Town Nurse, Amanda, if you need any further resources!
