Everyday Americans are affected by the opioid overdose crisis. This crisis is the result of addiction or misuse of opioids- including prescription pain relievers (such as oxycodone), heroin and synthetic opioids (such as fentanyl).
The Scituate Health Alliance is committed to helping with this crisis. With grant funding, we are hosting FREE events where Scituate residents can learn how to save a life with Narcan, a medication which can reverse opioid overdose.
Trainings will be provided to include:
- Overdose prevention strategies;
- Recognizing the signs and symptoms of overdose;
- How to administer Narcan;
- FREE Narcan,
- Support information and resources.
This training is open to all residents of Scituate. Those who take prescription opioids, or know someone who does, are strongly encouraged to attend. Accidental opioid overdose can happen at any time. Make sure you are prepared!
Supplies are limited. Registration is not required, but is recommended. Call to reserve your spot today!
Events will be coordinated by Amanda Marzano, RN. Date and time to be determined on response from community. Individualized trainings may also be held upon request. 401-721-6102.
